It is a patchwork canvas jacket. Made from all the bags of canvas scraps I had at my studio. I implemented several different patchwork techniques to utilize all my scrap canvas. I’m happy to say I was able to use every little scrap of canvas in my studio to create this piece. I still have smaller rolls of canvas but all the small cuts are gone! It has eight matching black leather buttons. I used black accent stitching. The lining is some fabric I had in my studio as well. The fabrics colors matched very well with. the canvas. The lining is beige with a repeating black and red figure I cant quite understand what it is. Could be a cowboy or a circus ring leader. I will let your imagination run wild.

This project is apart of a larger series. Where the goal is to exhaust all the materials in my house to create clothing with. I love the raw qualities of this jacket. Its breaking boundaries and every panel is completely different. After I sew one panel using one technique. The scraps of that panel get worked and blended into the next. Really creating some interesting textures.

I don’t have a name for this jacket yet. A friend said it looked like a straitjacket. Could be called the asylum jacket.
