The thread jacket came about because I always collected my scrap thread in bags. For years this accumulated. With my new project in swing. The goal being to exhaust all my materials in my studio. Scraps and all. I decided tI had enough scrap thread to make the the thread jacket. I used black jeans I had collected from my aunts. It was the perfect substrate. I used interfacing to give it more rigidity. I was able to fix the thread by using a zig zag stitch to sew the thread down. I had to work it slowly as to not bind the thread into the foot as I was sewing. I let intuition guide me as to what bag of thread to use first. Slowly finishing one bag until I used up all the excess thread.
