TIC JACKET NO. 03

TIC Jacket No. 03

ONE-OF-ONE · 2026

TIC Jacket No. 03 is a one-of-one wearable artwork in Addison Stonestreet’s TIC series, a body of work that transforms his lived experience with Tourette syndrome into clothing. The jacket uses repetition, overlapping direction, and hand embroidery to make the rhythm and accumulation of tics visible across the garment.

The exterior is patchworked from two dark shades of blue denim. Most of the jacket is constructed from the heavier-weight denim, while the contrast between the two fabrics creates subtle shifts in color and texture. Black accent stitching and reinforced topstitching strengthen the seams and emphasize the structure of the jacket.

Across the surface, the word “TIC” is embroidered in two different lettering styles and layered in changing orientations. The overlapping marks became an exercise in developing Addison’s hand-embroidery technique while reflecting the repetition and variation of individual tics.

The back features one of Addison’s original drawings translated into embroidery, bringing his visual art directly into the garment. Together, the drawing, repeated language, patchworked denim, and visible handwork connect Tourette syndrome and artistic practice within a single wearable piece.
