WHAT TIC MEANS

TIC is a clothing project and evolving body of work rooted in individuality, movement, and the things that make us different.

Born from my experience with Tourette’s, TIC explores the idea of the tic—not only as a physical movement or sound, but as a symbol of the things we sometimes try to hide, control, or apologize for.

I started saying, “Tourette’s is contagious.” Not because Tourette’s itself can pass from one person to another, but because I believe the energy behind it can: the movement, the confidence, the freedom, and the courage to be completely yourself. Then I realized that the initials of Tourette’s Is Contagious spell TIC. That became the name.

TIC is rooted in Tourette’s, but it is also about something universal. Everyone has something they have been told is strange, embarrassing, too much, or different. TIC is about becoming comfortable in the uncomfortable and finding confidence in the parts of ourselves we were taught to hide.

For the tic.
For the difference.
For the freedom to be seen.

THE TIC COLLECTION

The TIC Collection brings together the clothing, artwork, and ideas created in connection with my experience with Tourette’s.

Each piece is designed, constructed, and transformed by hand. Clothing becomes a canvas for experimentation through painting, embroidery, print, patchwork, reclaimed textiles, and unexpected details. The result is work that feels personal, expressive, and impossible to duplicate.

These pieces explore movement, discomfort, visibility, and self-expression—the experience of living with something that can sometimes feel impossible to hide.

Every TIC piece will live here as part of one evolving body of work. The pieces will also become part of my larger Archive, preserving the story of the collection as it continues to grow.
